The game plays out in a fairly linear and cinematic way, although the player's actions affect the outcome of the story and the game. Through the course of the game, the player can choose one of two paths: the "bad path", which includes joining in on the schemes of Mayor Chomo and Uncle Dave, or the "good path", which involves the Dude joining the Catharsis Police force. He must then find work and do various odd jobs to escape the town. Due to the economic meltdown, the Dude drives into town and becomes stranded because he can not afford a tank of gas. In Postal III, the Postal Dude emigrates to Paradise's sister town of Catharsis as he previously blew up Paradise with a nuclear bomb. The game also contains characters depicting Uwe Boll (director of the 2007 Postal film), Sergei Mavrodi, Osama bin Laden and Hugo Chávez. Postal III includes performances by a wide array of minor celebrities, including Ron Jeremy, Jennifer Walcott, and Randy Jones. There are two paths the player can follow depending on actions performed in the game, as well as how far the player's Karma Meter reaches if the player wantonly attacks and kills innocent people, the Karma Meter will be affected, changing from yellow to red and guaranteeing the player goes down the "bad path," in which the plot and missions change accordingly, and which ends with text asking if the player is "disappointed" that they did not get to "waste them yourself?", telling them instead to take the "good path", which will allow the player to see the story through to its logical conclusion. Postal 4 gamespot series#However, it retains the same sense of wild abandon action and combat the series is noted for. The core of the gameplay is more linear and story-centric as opposed to the open world of 2, with mission-based objectives pushing the plot along. This is a truly terrible experience that should be avoided at all costs.Postal III, like Postal 2 before it, changes up the perspective, this time acting as a third-person shooter as opposed to first person. Running With Scissors might consider this a badge of honor considering the fact that the game is bad is probably part of the joke, but don’t think for a second that Postal 4 will even touch the “So bad it’s good” category. The only downside to the game is the constant technical issues that only add to the ridiculously long list of serious flaws in the game. Postal 4: No Regerts lacks humor and anything close to funny or engaging mechanics. Postal 4: No Regerts is disgustingly childish and painful to play, at least assuming you get into the game at all due to constant crashes. Politically correct score aside, the game offers crazy action but due to game breaking bugs, uninteresting missions, very poor execution, long loading times and poor optimization, the game experience is very unsatisfactory and disappointing. In Postal 4, they have no one to blame but themselves. Russians were seduced in Postal 3’s Running With Scissors. I have far less patience with lazy, sleazy, sleazy humor that only looks witty, and I have absolutely no patience with developers who waste my time on games that barely hold together. Postal 4 gamespot free#Arts and entertainment should always be free to push the boundaries of what is acceptable. I have an infinitely high tolerance for humor, satire, and feigned violence. The raw style of the game directly encourages a lot of good jokes, but in this case, definitely don’t expect anything like that. Postal 4 is completely falling apart in all respects, especially because of the terrible humor and rather deplorable technical condition.Įmbarrassing is not a word that describes what I think of Postal 4. So, in the end, we got a game that is good, but ultimately bland. There is potential, but, unfortunately, the authors will never bring it to a level that would be at least acceptable. The game mechanics are crude, and attempts at polished humor fail. Postal 4 seems to play too hard to make sure the series is known for pushing the saw. Unfortunately, while it remains true to what made it a successful fanboy, it doesn’t raise the bar in any area. Postal 4: No Regerts is a return to the cult classic Postal 2. Below you can see what ratings the game receives from foreign reviewers.
